So you’re a popular teen girl in school and the one thing that is holding you back from being even more popular is having sex. So you finally do it, without protection, and end up pregnant, the next day! How is it possible to be what looks like nine months pregnant the next day? Well, mother fucking aliens, that’s how.
The film doesn’t exactly feel like the freshest idea that has ever been had but the execution of its horror sequences and urgency of the editing is where the film wins. Snatcher is about as fun as this genre ever gets, never taking it self too seriously but building tension where it is needed. The filmmakers are obviously influenced by both Raimi and Wright both in substance and style. The film moves along about as fast as a narrative can and only stops to take a breath when it is time for the audience to do so as well.

Like any film that doesn’t seem to reach its full potential you could spend time on script doctoring as the actual words coming out of every characters mouth seem a little behind the times. The jokes will wear thin in a few years and in ten this film won’t be as watchable as it is this year or the next. So, don’t wait to sit down and enjoy this one. It is the perfect runtime for its content.

If you are a fan of horror, any horror, you should absolutely check this one out. Its fun, perverted, scary, gross, and pretty god damn funny. It is one of the films that would be perfect to introduce a young person to horror and the concepts of making a horror movie fun. It’s more campy than it is though provoking but a not every film needs to make you think about its messages and themes.
